Gen. Muhammadu Buhari’s Convoy Involved In An Accident

One of the vehicles in the convoy of Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (rtd), former Head of State, was yesterday, involved in an auto crash along Kachia – Kaduna highway.

The accident was said to have occurred after one of the vehicles in the convoy of Buhari, a Prado SUV lost control thereby somersaulting severally while trying to avoid running into an oncoming vehicle.
Buhari was on his way to Kaduna  from Kaura local government area where he had led a delegation  of the national leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on a condolence visit to the Chief of Marwa, Malam Tagwai Sambo when the incident happened.
Tragedy was averted as no life was lost in the accident.

Police Discover Another Baby Factory, Arrest Its Owner....What is going on? This is so sad

The Abia State Police Command has discovered another baby factory at Umuabuwa village in Osisioma Local Government Area of the state and consequently arrested its operator.

The baby factory popularly known as “Osu Abuwa” was allegedly run by Mrs. Comfort Osu Abu.
Mrs. Abu, was using her home to harbor pregnant teenagers and women whose children she sold to prospective buyers without following the due process of child adoption as stipulated by law, was said to have been in the illegal child trafficking business for many years.
The police also arrested a couple, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Blessing Iheanacho, for allegedly conspiring to harbor a pregnant lady, Chidinma Okeke, at the home with the intent of adopting her baby on delivery.
The couple, said to have been childless after 18 years of marriage, were reported to have contracted Chidinma to be pregnant and kept her at Comfort’s home hoping to adopt her baby when she put to bed before police swoop on the baby factory and arrested them.
While it was equally gathered that a pregnant girl, Miss Ozuchi Chinasa, who was also harboured at the home, was rescued during the raid, reports claimed that Chidinma had been delivered of a baby boy in an undisclosed hospital in Aba.

Parents of 24-year-old Chuang Yuan from China confessed to chaining their son in his bedroom, because they had no other option to stop him stealing.

Father Wen Yuan put a concrete block in the young man's room, attached one side of the chain to this block and tied the other side round his neck.
Wen explained that he was afraid that his son, having passion for stealing, might soon be jailed. According to the father, on many occasions he had to compensate their neighbours and apologise for Chuang's actions.
When the head of the family could not tolerate it any longer, he decided that his son's freedom of movement needed to be restricted until he learned his lesson.

Known for her soothing lyrics, Zara lit up the Nigerian Music Scene a few years back before she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.

Born in Lagos, to Eugene Kolawole Joseph and Abimbola Akindele, on July 30, 1985, Zara passed away on Friday 28 March, 2014 after a two-year battle with Multiple Sclerosis.

Zara will be buried at Ikoyi Cemetery on Friday 4th April after a Funeral Mass at 10am at Holy Cross Cathedral, Catholic Mission Street, Lagos.

Contractor John Murray and his crew were tearing down walls of a 1950s home in North Phoenix, Arizona when they stumbled upon a time capsule. Murray told KPNX 12 News, “It was on the floor over there with a pile of insulation…We’ve done hundreds of houses but never found anything like this.”

At first, it was jokingly suggested that a partial ancient sea turtle bone discovered in a New Jersey stream bed by an amateur paleontologist in fall of 2012 was the missing half of a 163-year-old fossil housed at the Academy of Natural Sciences at Drexel University.
The fossil, a humerus (the large upper-arm bone), was broken in half. Could the missing half found by Gregory Harpel and donated to the New Jersey State Museum actually be the other half of the bone from the same ancient sea turtle that was discovered in 1849?

NEW YORK (AP) — Osama bin Laden's son-in-law, the voice of fiery al-Qaida propaganda videotapes after the Sept. 11 attacks, was convicted Wednesday of conspiring to kill Americans for his role as the terror group's spokesman.

The verdict came after about six hours of deliberation over two days in the case against Kuwaiti imam Sulaiman Abu Ghaith, the highest-ranking al-Qaida figure to face trial on U.S. soil since the attacks.
As a court deputy read the verdict aloud, Abu Ghaith, listening to an Arabic interpreter through earphones, remained composed as he had throughout the trial. Just before he was led from the courtroom, he turned toward a spectator — a longtime friend from Kuwait — and smiled.
In a statement, U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara said he hoped the verdict brought some measure of comfort to al-Qaida victims.
"He was more than just Osama bin Laden's propaganda minister," Bharara said. "Within hours after the devastating 9/11 attacks, Abu Ghaith was using his position in al-Qaida's homicidal hierarchy to persuade others to pledge themselves to al-Qaida in the cause of murdering more Americans."
Defense attorney Stanley Cohen emerged from court promising to appeal.
Abu Ghaith had testified during a three-week trial that he answered bin Laden's request in the hours after the attacks to speak on the widely circulated videos used to recruit new followers willing to go on suicide missions like the 19 who hijacked four planes on Sept. 11, 2001.
"The storm of airplanes will not stop," Abu Ghaith warned in an October 2001 video that was played for the jury. Continue reading........

The path of Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 ended in the southern Indian Ocean, Prime Minister Najib Razak said at a news conference in Kuala Lumpur.

PEARCE AIR FORCE BASE, Australia — Malaysia’s prime minister said Monday that further analysis of satellite data confirmed that the missing Malaysian airliner went down in the southern Indian Ocean with its passengers and crew. The announcement narrowed the search area but left many questions unanswered about why it flew to such a remote part of the world.

Experts had previously held out the possibility that the jet could have flown north instead, toward Central Asia, but the new data showed that it could have gone only south, said the prime minister, Najib Razak.

Mr. Najib appeared eager to bring some finality to the families of the passengers on Malaysia Airlines Flight 370, two-thirds of them Chinese citizens. The families have grown increasingly angry about the lack of clear information about the plane’s fate. The Boeing 777, with 227 passengers and 12 crew members on board, was headed from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing when it disappeared on March 8.

The aircraft’s last known position, according to the analysis, “is a remote location, far from any possible landing sites,” Mr. Najib said. “It is therefore with deep sadness and regret that I must inform you that, according to this new data, Flight MH370 ended in the southern Indian Ocean.” More after the cut.......

Abacha Secured 60 False Security Vote Letters To Loot CBN — US

The United States Government has given more insights into the looting of over $2billion from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) by a former Head of State, the late Gen. Sani Abacha, and some of his children.
The US said Abacha secured 60 false security votes letters to draw money from the CBN.
More than $700million of the money was delivered to Mohammed Abacha in bags or boxes full of cash.
Some of the cash transferred from the CBN, under the guise of security votes, to foreign accounts included $1.1billion and £413 million (GBP) in cash; $50,465,450; £3,500,000 GBP in traveller’s cheques; and .

 $386,290,169.
In a document filed by the United States Department in the District and Bankruptcy Courts for the District of Columbia, the US court document, which was exclusively obtained by our correspondent, said in part: “Abacha together with Mohammed Sani Abacha, Bagudu and others, systematically embezzled public funds worth billions of dollars from the CBN on the pretext that the funds were necessary for national security.

People Of Namibia Hail Jonathan 'Igwe'

President Goodluck Jonathan rounded up his state visit to Namibia yesterday where he was conferred with “Order of Welwitschia”, the Namibia highest national honour, by President Hifikepunye Pohamba.
















The ceremony took place at the Independence Stadium, Windhoek, and was attended by the founding President and the father of the Namibian nation, Dr Sam Nujoma.
Over 35,000 persons witnessed the ceremony at the stadium which was full to capacity.
President Jonathan who arrived the stadium in in company of his wife, Dame Patience, was greeted with a loud shout of “Igwe!’ (King) popularised by Nigerian Nollywood film that is hugely followed by other African countries.
President Pohamba said the honour was conferred on President Jonathan in recognition of the selfless contributions by the government and the people of Nigeria to Namibia’s national liberation struggle.
He noted that, despite the geographic distance, Nigeria played a prominent role together with the Frontline states in supporting the liberation movements in Southern Africa, including SWAPO of Namibia.
He also hailed Nigeria’s steadfast and consistent contributions to the resolution of conflicts and the maintenance of peace and stability in Africa, pointing out Nigeria’s role in the crisis in Cote d’ Ivoire, Mali and in other parts of Africa.

Visually-impaired ace music composer, producer and singer, Cobhams Asuquo, has revealed in an interview that he was a bully and gang member growing up.

Responding to what it was like growing up for him, this is what he had to say;

"I lived in the barracks and it was fun. Some people might see the barracks as squalid, malignant and rough but it was my life. I loved it. From a barracks at Jos to Ikeja Military Cantonment; I loved it. I am a barracks boy and I am 100 per cent proud of that. I lived among Nigerians from different tribes. It gave me a lot of perspectives and insight into a lot of people’s lives.

"As a kid I was rough. I was stubborn and sometimes, I was a bully.

"I did things that were big and bad enough to do. I was a gang leader in many ways and my friends always listened to me. TERRIBLE: Boko Haram's Wish Comes True In Borno

Public secondary schools in northeast Borno state have been closed indefinitely following deadly attacks blamed on Boko Haram Islamists, teachers and parents said Saturday.
The closure reportedly affects 85 secondary schools, catering to some 120,000 students across the troubled state, a stronghold of the militant sect waging a five year insurgency in Nigeria.
The murderous group, whose name means “Western education is sinful” in the Hausa language, has vowed to stop children attending school.
“We reported to school on Friday last week (March 14) but to our shock the principal of the school told us he had received orders from the ministry of education to close down the school indefinitely,” teacher Suleiman Gana told AFP.
“He (the principal) told us the decision affects all public secondary schools in the state and was taken as a precautionary measure to safeguard lives of teachers and students from Boko Haram attacks,” Gana said.
A Borno state official confirmed the closure of the schools to AFP, speaking on condition of anonymity.
Deadly attacks blamed on Boko Haram have intensified since the turn of the year, with some 700 killed in more than 40 attacks in 2014 according to Human Rights Watch, making it one of the bloodiest years since the insurgency began in 2009.
In the restive northeast, tens of thousands have fled for their lives, either in fear of further attacks or after militants razed their homes and businesses.
A wave of attacks on education targets, including the slaughter of boarding school students in their beds while they slept, has prompted international condemnation.

BABY FACTORY: 8 Pregnant Women Were Rescued In Ogun State

The Ogun State police has rescued eight pregnant women and teenage girls from an alleged baby making factory located at number 9 Sebanjo Crescent, off Fabolude Busstop, Akute area of Ifo local government of Ogun State.
The police also arrested a middle aged man and a 26-year-old woman running the factory.
While parading the suspects at the Ajuwon Divisional Police Headquarters, the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Mr Ikemefuna Okoye, described the development as inhuman, insisting that the command would get to the root of the matter.
The suspects are expected to be transferred to the state criminal investigation department for through investigations.
The structure which housed the hostages appeared as residential building but the latest discovery by the police revealed that a baby making factory was domiciled in the house, where teenage girls were made to part with their babies after delivery and a token given.
A 26-year-old woman, Angela Chigoeze, who claimed to be operating a divine herbal clinic, has been arrested as the one in charge of the illicit operation which sold babies for an alleged sum of 300,000 Naira (about 1,800 dollars).
The state’s Commissioner of Police said the arrest was made possible through information by some residents, adding that the police was on the trail of other accomplices.
Meanwhile, four middle aged men have been gunned down and fatally wounded by the command in Sango area of the state while robbing a Bureau De Change.
Items recovered from them included arms and ammunition and a Toyota Yaris vehicle with registration number EJ 440 ESD.

N24 Billion NOT Missing, Minister Okonjo-Iweala Insists

Coordinationg Minister for the Economy and Finance Minister Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala described as ridiculous and false the accusations according to which she forged and faked documents to conceal the "missing" N24bn was missing from the Police pension account.
In a statement issued on Friday by Minister's Special Adviser on Communications, Dr. Okonjo-Iweala says the money was not missing.
Okonjo-Iweala condemned attempts by the Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Public Accounts, Hon. Solomon Olamilekan, to spread such false allegations. She has repeatedly explained to the Committee that the money was an overpayment based on the demands of those trying to steal from pension funds which was successfully blocked, and the money was returned to the treasury.
These attempts are aimed to tarnish the Minister's image, the statement reads, and at diverting the public's attention from positive efforts to reform the problematic pensions sector.
In her statement, the Minister notes the amount in question was returned to the treasury even before the DG of Pension Transitional Arrangement Department was appointed.
The Minister expressed readiness to take up the challenge posed by the Committee Chairman for a public discussion on the issue.

TRAGIC: Mast Collapses, Crushes Little Girl, Man, Injures 3 Others [PHOTO]

A telecommunication mast erected in a residential area in Odukpani, near Calabar, has collapsed, killing two persons and injuring three others.












The fallen mast also destroyed several houses on its path on March 19.
Eyewitnesses told journalists on Thursday that 11 years old Miss Lawrencia Asuquo, and businessman, Adindu Fynecountry, from Abia, died on the spot when struck by the falling mast.
Eyewitnesses said the mast fell shortly after a brief stormy rain.
Secretary of Odukpani Local Government Area, Mr Eyet Eyibio said: “we are yet to conduct a study of the situation. We will come out with a comprehensive report on the disaster.
“But I will describe the incident as quite unfortunate.
“Relevant departments of the council will do a study of the disaster in concert with other agencies of government and the mast owners and take steps to forestall further occurrence.
“We will also plan a remedial measure that will help to ameliorate the plight of the victims’’, he said.
Owners of the mast declined to comment but top sources in the company confirmed the incident, saying they have sent emissary to the families of the victims.
“This is to ensure that they have temporary palliative while awaiting instructions from the company’s headquarters in Lagos.

President Goodluck Jonathan has approved the appointments of the new Group Executive Directors for the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) with immediate effect.

The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Dr Reuben Abati, emphasised that the appointments were made to fill critical vacancies currently existing in the Corporation:

(1) Mr Ian Gregory Udoh – Group Executive Director, Refining and Petrochemicals;

(2) Dr Dan Iwoene Efebo – Group Executive Director, Corporate Services;

(3) Ms Aisha Mata Abdurrahman – Group Executive Director, Business Development;

When an 84-year-old Brazilian woman went to the doctor complaining of stomach cramps, they found a 44-year-old fetus still inside of her.
The Daily Mail reports that the unnamed woman had complained of dizziness and severe stomach pains. Upon an x-ray, doctors found the 44-year-old fetus, referred to as a “stone baby,” still outside her womb. It was estimated that the fetus had been around 20 to 28-weeks-old.
The woman told doctors that she had been pregnant 44 years ago, but when she experienced a lot of pain she went to see a witch doctor for help. There were no traditional doctors available in her village. She was given some medication and felt better, and when the pain stopped and baby stopped moving, she thought she had aborted. Instead, the 44-year-old fetus remained in her body and her body adapted to having it there. The x-ray clearly defined the ribs, spine, legs and arms of the fetus.
The woman says she has no plans to remove the 44-year-old fetus, but doctors hope she will change her mind so she can avoid any further medical issues. Doctors seem amazed that she hadn't had any issues until now. Though rare, stories like the woman with the 44-year-old fetus do happen from time to time. Other recent incidences include an 82-year-old woman from Bogota and a 92-year-old woman from China.

WICKEDNESS: Man Finally Faces Wrath Of Law For Raping His 9-Yr-Old And 13-Yr-Old Daughters For 2 YEARS! (PHOTOS)

A 35-year-old bus driver, Adeleke Adetayo, who was charged with sleeping with his nine-year-old and 13-year-old daughters, has been sentenced by the Family Court unit of an Ikeja Chief Magistrate’s Court to 14 years imprisonment.
(14 years????? What a world, he should be jailed for a life time with hard labour after this unforgivable crime)















Adetayo was reportedly arrested in July 2013 and his two daughters were rescued after a sexual abuse that lasted two years.
Following his arrest, his children were sent to the Lagos State Children’s Home, where they lamented that they had been scarred for life as a result of the abuse they suffered from their father.
The six-month trial of Adetayo culminated in him finally pleading guilty to sexual assault of his children.
In her judgement, Chief Magistrate A. Oshoniyi found Adetayo guilty of sexual abuse and child defilement, sentencing him to seven years each for the crime against each child.

BREAKING NEWS: PDP Chairman Leads Thugs To Burn APC Membership Register In Enugu

The clamp down on opposition parties took another dimension in Enugu on Saturday as armed men suspected to be Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) thugs hijacked and burnt the All Progressives Congress, APC, membership register.

The incident took place at Udi, the country home of Governor Sullivan Chime of the state.
A source told Daily Post that collation of materials from the on-going APC membership registration exercise was ongoing at the Udi collation centre at Ninth Mile Corner when about 15 armed thugs barged into the place and disrupted the exercise.
APC officials who narrowly escaped from the centre at IFEPET Garden Ninth Mile, alleged that the thugs were led by the factional chairman of PDP in Udi, Isaac Nwoye.
The thugs reportedly dumped the register in a nearby bush, soaked it with petrol and set it on fire.

The entire South Campus of the University of Education Winneba, Ghana, was thrown into a state of uproar as a level 100 student of the University was discovered dead in a nearby uncompleted building.

Identified as Solomon Obeng, the Basic Education student committed suicide by hanging himself in the uncompleted building on Vals Day after realizing he had obtained 3Es in his examination.
According to the University’s regulations, obtaining 3Es in an examination meant an outright dismissal after grades have been displayed on the school’s notice boards.
Some students who could not phantom why the deceased committed suicide considering the fact that ‘the results could be manipulated’ told 233 Live News the University management was to blame for the unfortunate happening.
“Why should someone’s world come to an end because he is unable to get 50% in an exams?” a student, Nana Kwasi Frimpong asked.

On January 18, 2014, Adeleke, who is an apprentice meat seller at Tinubu Market in Iyana-Ipaja, Lagos, allegedly added his name to a long list of sexual predators walking the streets of Lagos.

That day, which would change the life of 12-year-old Bisola (not real name) forever, was when Adeleke ambushed the young girl and raped her for one hour.
Adeleke was eventually arrested but in his attempt to escape from the police custody, he was hit by a moving vehicle when he ran across the road.
Adeleke’s boss supplies meat to Bisola’s mother, a food vendor. It was learnt that the suspect had on occasions delivered meat to the girl’s mother.
Giving detail of the incident, Bisola narrated;
“I followed a friend to buy sugar in the market (she sells sugar to assist her family) and when I was coming, he (Adeleke) told me to follow him to their shop to collect meat for my mother. I followed him but I did not enter the shop. There was nobody else around. It was after 7pm. He told me to enter but I said he should bring out the meat. He then said I should take the meat from the freezer. As I attempted to open the freezer, he grabbed me and tied a cloth over my face and mouth. “He held me down and pulled off my pants.
