Man Stabbed Neighbour, Beat Wife To Stupor & Escaped Arrest (Photos)


A 33-year old man, identified as Ibrahim Yekini has been arrested and charged to court for allegedly attacking his neighbours, a couple and their son over the child's refusal to run an errand for him.
The suspect was arraigned on a five-count charge of assault, breach of peace and resisting of police arrest at a Senior Magistrates’ Court sitting at Ijaiye/Ojokoro, Lagos State.

According to report, the neighbour's wife, Risiqat Okeniyi had gone to confront Yekini why he beat up her son but he allegedly got angry over her confrontation and beat her up. She almost lost her consciousness before other neighbours came to her rescue. See more pictures after the cut.........

When Risiqat's husband, Sanusi returned from work and saw his battered wife and son, he also went to confront Yekini who got angry and threatened to deal with him. Yekini was said to have stabbed Sanusi in the head with a broken bottle after pouring hot coal and oil on him.

The matter was reported to the police but Yekini escaped arrest by an anti-rubbery squad who came as re-enforcement after his purported resistance to honour police invitation.
When he was eventually arrested and interrogated, Yekini denied the allegations but admitted beating the son.
When charged to court, Yekini pleaded not guilty and was granted bail in the sum of N100, 000 with two responsible sureties in like sum by the presiding Senior Magistrate, Mrs. O.A. Layinka. The case was adjourned till 18 February.
He was however remanded in Kirikiri Prisons in Lagos when he could not meet his bail terms.
